Swiss nationality.

Studied painting in London and Munich. Pupil of K. F. Dahmen at the Academy of Visual Arts. First contacts with film in 1967/68. Operated the "graphic partnership" with Anthony Powell for over three years. Main focus of work: TV design, title and TV graphic art, production design for TV programmes such as "Info Show", "Herman van Veen", "Clown & Co." for artists like Gianna Naninni and others.

Design and set decoration for approximately 100 TV shows for Bavarian Broadcasting (Bayerischer Rundfunk) and Southwest Broadcasting (Südwestfunk) in Germany. Production designer for 18 feature films.

From 1983 to 1991, chairman and executive head of the S/F/K association (professional organization for production designers, art directors and costume designers).

From 1988 to 1991, member of the administrative council of the VG Bild-Kunst (association for the exploitation of visual art).

Since 1989, professor for interior design at the Technical University in Rosenheim, Germany. Lectures in "design", "spatial theory", "production design" and "film practice".

Since 1991, in charge of the new "scenography" course of studies. Teaches "film analysis", "film practice" and "stage and film design". Deputy head of the "qualified propmaster" course of instruction since 1993. Lives in Munich.

Founder member and member of the board of management of the DEUTSCHEN FILMAKADEMIE.
